AIS for non-SOLAS vessels
FA-150 is the Class-A AIS transponder for SOLAS vessels. For non-SOLAS vessels, such as medium to small size recreational boats or fishing boats, FURUNO delivers Class-B AIS transponder FA-50 and AIS receiver FA-30.
Class-B AIS transponder FA-50
- Class-B AIS FA-50 can handle less variety of information than the Class-A AIS, but the variety of information handled by the FA-50 would be sufficient for medium or small size vessels.

AIS receiver FA-30
- The FA-30 enables navigators on the medium or small size vessels to obtain the AIS information for safer vessel operation. Although the FA-30 cannot transmit own ship’s data, it helps the operators enhance situational awareness of the surrounding area.
